It isn´t hard to tell: my inner child and me are still so much the same. I just somehow “grew up” a little… 😉

If there is one thread that has woven itself through my life, it is a deep curiosity about what it means to be human. How do we lose ourselves?
How do we find our way back?
And what helps us remember who we are beneath the roles, adaptations and protective patterns that once helped us survive? These questions have shaped both my personal journey and my professional path. I hold a degree in Psychology from the Free University of Berlin and am a licensed Heilpraktiker for Psychotherapy in Germany. My work is also informed by Internal Family Systems (IFS), attachment and early childhood development, Inner Child work, trauma-informed approaches, Forest and Nature Therapy (ANFT), and Indigenous psychologies. Rather than following one single method, I bring together different approaches that gently support the same intention: helping people reconnect with themselves, with others, and with the living world around them. Nature has become one of my greatest teachers. Since childhood, I have always felt deeply at home among animals, forests and open landscapes. Today I live in rural Spain, where I found not only a beautiful place to live, but a place that profoundly transformed the way I understand healing. Surrounded by ancient holm oaks, olive groves and an extraordinary biodiversity, I gradually discovered that nature is far more than a peaceful backdrop. It became a companion, a mirror and a gentle guide—constantly reminding me that life continues to grow, even after periods of loss, uncertainty or change. It is here that my vision for MyNature and the Red Thread slowly emerged. Alongside my counselling practice, I am delighted to offer immersive retreats from 2027 onwards, inviting people into this remarkable landscape. Together we explore different pathways back to ourselves through psychology, nature, movement, reflection, creativity and shared human connection. I like to think of them as different doors leading into the same house. I offer online counselling internationally, as well as in-person sessions and Forest & Nature Therapy experiences in Germany and Spain. I work in German, English and Spanish. Retreats are currently held in English. If something in my work resonates with you, I would be honoured to accompany you for a part of your own journey. Perhaps we will discover, together, a little more of your own Red Thread.

The polar star:
Find your true north
Every meaningful journey begins with questions.
Here are some of the ones I am asked most often—and a few that I believe are worth asking ourselves.
What is the essence of what you offer?
At the heart of my work lies a simple yet profound question: How do we find our way back home to ourselves?
I believe that healing is not primarily about becoming someone new. It is about remembering who we are beneath the patterns, protective strategies and adaptations that once helped us survive, belong or feel safe. As a psychologist, certified Forest and Nature Therapy Guide, and IFS-informed practitioner, I accompany adults and parents through times of transition, grief, uncertainty and personal growth.
My work brings together psychology, attachment and early childhood development, Inner Child work, nature-based practices, and body-oriented approaches that help us move beyond thinking and gently reconnect with our felt experience.
In today’s fast-paced and overstimulating world, many of us gradually lose contact with our bodies, our senses and our inner aliveness. Traumatic experiences can deepen this disconnection, leading us to live primarily from protective patterns rather than from our authentic selves. Nature offers a remarkable invitation to reconnect. Not because it “heals” us by itself, but because it creates conditions in which our nervous system can soften, our senses can awaken, and we can begin listening again—to our bodies, our hearts, and the quieter parts of ourselves.
Whether through counselling, nature-based experiences or retreats, my intention is always the same: to create a safe and compassionate space where different doors can lead back to the same place— a deeper connection with yourself, with others, and with the living world around you. Because I believe that coming home is less about finding something new…and more about remembering what has always been there.
What do you mean by trauma?
The word trauma comes from the ancient Greek word for wound. Psychologically, trauma is not defined only by what happened to us, but by what happened within us when an experience overwhelmed our capacity to cope.
Trauma may result from a single event, such as the loss of a loved one, an accident or a difficult separation. It can also develop gradually through repeated experiences of emotional neglect, insecure attachment, abandonment, or environments in which we did not feel safe enough to fully be ourselves.
These experiences often shape the way we relate to ourselves, to others and to the world. We may develop protective patterns that once helped us survive, but over time can leave us feeling disconnected from our bodies, our emotions, our relationships, and our sense of aliveness. Many indigenous traditions describe this experience as a kind of “soul loss”—a poetic way of expressing the feeling that a part of us has become separated from our vitality, our authentic self, or our natural connection with life.
My work is not about fixing what is broken. It is about gently creating the conditions in which reconnection becomes possible. During a retreat, slowing down often allows us to notice parts of ourselves that everyday life keeps hidden. Thoughts, emotions, memories or longings may arise—not because something is wrong, but because they are asking to be seen with greater compassion.
What are protective patterns?
We all develop protective strategies throughout life. Some of us become helpers, achievers, caretakers or perfectionists. Others withdraw, avoid conflict or keep themselves constantly busy. These patterns are not signs that something is wrong with us. They often represent intelligent ways our system learned to protect us. Understanding them with curiosity, rather than judgement, is often the beginning of healing.
What is Internal Family Systems (IFS)?
IFS is a therapeutic approach that understands the human mind as naturally made up of different parts. Some parts protect us, some carry pain, and beneath them all there is a core Self that is calm, compassionate and deeply connected.
Rather than trying to eliminate parts of ourselves, IFS helps us build a relationship with them so that healing can happen from within. It is one of the approaches that has deeply influenced my work.
What happens during a retreat?
Every retreat is an invitation to slow down, reconnect and explore yourself in relationship—with nature, with others and with your own inner world. There is no pressure to perform or share more than feels right.
Depending on the retreat, we may combine guided nature experiences, reflective exercises, movement, creative exploration, therapeutic conversations and moments of silence. My vision is to invite different facilitators—each offering their own “door” into the same house: the journey back home to ourselves.
Why nature?
Nature is not simply the place where I work—it is one of my greatest teachers. In nature there is no pressure to perform or become someone else. Instead, it gently invites us to slow down, reconnect with our senses and remember that we are part of something larger.
I don’t believe nature “heals” us on its own. Rather, it creates the conditions in which our nervous system can soften, our bodies begin to feel safe again, and deeper listening becomes possible.
What is the Red Thread?
The Red Thread is the central metaphor that runs through my work. For me, it represents the invisible connection that links us to ourselves, to others, and to the living world around us. Sometimes we lose sight of this thread. Sometimes life tangles it. Sometimes it quietly waits until we are ready to notice it again. Following the Red Thread is not about finding perfect answers. It is about becoming curious enough to discover what brings you back to yourself.
Who is my retreat for?
Perhaps this work is for you if you have the feeling that something inside has gone quiet. If life has recently changed in unexpected ways. If you long for more aliveness. If you are curious about the patterns that shaped you. Or if you simply sense that there might be another way of relating to yourself and to life.
You don’t need to have everything figured out before you begin. Curiosity is enough.
Forest-bathing … what does that mean? And do I have to hug a tree?
Only if the tree asks nicely. (I’m only half joking.) No.
Nature therapy is not about performing unusual activities. Sometimes we walk, sometimes we sit, sometimes we simply notice what is already happening around us.
The invitation is not to become someone different. It is to become more available to your own experience.
Forest and Nature therapy is a methodology which is inspired in the Japanese tradition of “Shinrin-Yoku“. The japanese word for “bathing” relates to the particles: phytoncites which are released by the trees and positively effects our immune system if we pass beneath them; it is like as if we are taking an invisible shower. The research shows an incredible number of positive effects on health and well-being by taking a paced walk in the woods. Everything along this walk is an invitation; the ultimate objective for you to open your senses to what is surrounding you (and inside). Some might feel called to smell a flower, touch a tree or even embrace it. YOU just do what feels right to you.
Again, there is no right or wrong in doing forest bathing. Like there are people who sing in the shower… You do not have to if you do not feel like it! 😉
What is the Inner Child?
The Inner Child is a psychological part of the human psyche. It represents the living child within us—the part that still carries the emotional experiences of our early years.
It is the part that holds our capacity for awe, wonder, curiosity, sensitivity, playfulness, love and presence. But it also carries our fears, unmet needs, and the emotional wounds that may have shaped us through experiences of loss, neglect, insecurity or not feeling fully seen.
As we grow up, many of us learn to protect these more vulnerable parts of ourselves. We adapt, we become strong, responsible, independent or constantly available to others. These protective strategies often help us survive, but they can also leave us feeling disconnected from the spontaneous, authentic aliveness that once came so naturally.
For me, reconnecting with the Inner Child is not about becoming childish or living in the past. It is about remembering who we are beneath the adaptations that once protected us.
When we begin listening to this younger part of ourselves with curiosity and compassion, something remarkable can happen. We no longer relate to our wounds with judgement, but with understanding. From that place, new possibilities of meaning, vitality, connection and joy can begin to emerge.
Perhaps this is one of the deepest forms of healing: not becoming someone new, but gently finding our way back home to ourselves.
Is this therapy, coaching or something else?
My work sits at the meeting point between psychology, counselling, nature-based guidance and personal growth. Depending on your needs, our work may involve reflective conversations, body awareness, nature experiences, Inner Child work or IFS-informed approaches.
Rather than following a rigid method, I try to meet each person where they are and together discover which “door” best supports their journey. Different doors. Same house.

What I believe in
We often forget that we are nature.
Nature is not something separate from us. So, when we say that we have lost our connection to nature, we’ve lost our connection to ourselves.”

A guided Nature Immersion Walk
I remembered sensations from my childhood, which I thought forgotten. For those moments, I was a child again! The nature meditation still lingers deep within me. Thank you!
